A simple guide for new Airline Manager 4 players
The Echelon Coalition is growing, and additional Echelon alliances may be created as the community expands.
At present, Echelon Global is our primary alliance, and its current minimum requirement is:
$20,000 Contribution Per Day (C/D)
These requirements may change as Echelon grows. Future Coalition alliances may also have different requirements based on their purpose, available space, or player level.
Please check the website from time to time for the latest information.
FIRST: EVERYONE STARTS SMALL
Every large airline in Airline Manager 4 started with only a few aircraft.
Having a small fleet does not mean you are playing badly. It usually means your airline is still growing.
Echelon Global is simply designed for airlines that have reached a later stage of development.
Our current minimum is:
$20,000 Contribution Per Day
These are alliance contribution numbers. They are not your airline's daily profit or revenue.
WHAT IS ALLIANCE CONTRIBUTION?
When you belong to an alliance, your flights can generate contribution for the alliance.
The amount depends on several factors, including:
Aircraft • Route • Distance • Cost Index • Flight Activity
This means there is no single aircraft number that guarantees $20,000 per day.
Two airlines with 40 aircraft can produce very different contribution.
One may easily meet the requirement.
The other may not.
SO... HOW MANY AIRCRAFT DO I NEED?
There is no official minimum fleet size.
However, our own flight testing can give new players a useful idea of the scale involved.
For example, some aircraft and routes we have tested have produced approximately $150–$230 of contribution per aircraft per day when operated regularly.
At those rates:
| Example | Approximate Fleet Needed |
|---|---|
| $150 per aircraft/day | 50 aircraft |
| $175 per aircraft/day | 43 aircraft |
| $200 per aircraft/day | 38 aircraft |
| $225 per aircraft/day | 34 aircraft |
| $250 per aircraft/day | 30 aircraft |
These are examples — not requirements.
Your results can be higher or lower.
Aircraft type, route design, Cost Index, how often you play, and how many departures you make can all change the result.
WHAT ABOUT A SMALL AIRLINE?
If you currently operate 5, 8, 10 or even 20 aircraft, you may have a very successful young airline.
But you will probably need more growth before you can consistently generate $20,000 in daily alliance contribution.
That is completely normal.
Keep expanding your fleet, improving your routes, and learning the game.
Echelon will still be here when you're ready.
A BETTER WAY TO THINK ABOUT IT
Don't ask:
“Do I own enough aircraft?”
Ask:
“Can my airline consistently produce enough contribution?”
Fleet size is only one part of the answer.
A well-designed fleet that flies frequently can be much more productive than a larger fleet with inefficient routes.
A QUICK ECHELON GLOBAL READINESS CHECK
Before requesting to join Echelon, ask yourself:
- Do I have several dozen active aircraft?
- Do I operate my airline daily?
- Are most of my aircraft flying productive routes?
- Can I keep aircraft flying throughout the day?
- Is my airline still expanding?
- Am I likely to sustain at least $20,000 (C/D) contribution per day?
If most of those answers are yes, you may be ready.
If not, keep building. There is no penalty for waiting.
THERE MAY BE A PLACE FOR YOU
If your airline is not ready for Echelon Global today, that does not necessarily mean Echelon is out of reach.
The Echelon Coalition is expanding. As the community grows, additional alliances may be created with different goals or requirements.
Echelon Global currently serves as the Coalition's primary alliance, but it does not have to be the only destination for every developing airline.
Take a peek at Echelon Horizon which is meant for players seeking to mive up the ranks and keep building your fleet, improving your routes, and learning the game.
Check back as your airline grows — and as we grow.
Requirements, available alliances, and membership opportunities may change over time.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I JOIN?
New members should not panic if their numbers are not perfect immediately.
It takes some time for us to see how an airline performs as part of the alliance.
Your activity, flights, contribution, and overall progress give us a much better picture than one number taken at one moment.
What matters most is whether your airline can reach and maintain the alliance requirement during normal play.
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE
FLEET SIZE IS A GUIDE. CONTRIBUTION IS THE REQUIREMENT.
There is no Coalition-wide minimum aircraft count. The examples on this page are intended to help new players understand the approximate scale of an airline currently preparing for Echelon Global.
Requirements can change, and future Echelon alliances may operate under different standards.
NOT READY YET?
That's okay.
Keep flying. Keep expanding. Learn what works for your airline.
Then come back when those eight aircraft have somehow become forty.
It happens faster than you think. 😎✈️
